Job Summary
The Assistant Quality Manager supports the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of quality and patient safety programs within the hospital. The role ensures compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, quality indicators, infection control protocols, and patient safety initiatives to enhance healthcare outcomes and patient experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Management System
- Assist in maintaining the hospital's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Support implementation of quality policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor compliance with hospital quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Accreditation & Compliance
- Coordinate activities related to hospital accreditation such as National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers and Joint Commission International standards.
- Prepare departments for internal and external audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and non-conformities.
Quality Indicators & Data Analysis
- Collect, analyze, and report hospital quality indicators.
- Monitor clinical and non-clinical quality metrics.
- Prepare monthly quality dashboards and management reports.
- Track trends and recommend improvement actions.
Patient Safety
- Coordinate incident reporting and patient safety programs.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for adverse events and sentinel events.
- Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Promote a culture of patient safety across the hospital.
Clinical Audits
- Plan and conduct clinical, nursing, and departmental audits.
- Monitor compliance with documentation standards and clinical protocols.
- Support quality improvement projects based on audit findings.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct quality-related training programs for hospital staff.
- Facilitate orientation sessions on quality standards, patient safety goals, and accreditation requirements.
- Promote continuous quality improvement practices.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain quality records, policies, SOPs, and audit reports.
- Ensure proper documentation of quality initiatives and improvement projects.
- Prepare reports for quality committee meetings and management reviews.
Coordination
- Liaise with clinical departments, nursing services, infection control, and support services.
- Work closely with quality committees to implement improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related healthcare field.
- Master's degree in Hospital Administration (MHA), Healthcare Management, or Quality Management preferred.
- Certification in healthcare quality or accreditation is an advantage.
Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in hospital quality, accreditation, patient safety, or healthcare operations.
- Experience in NABH/JCI accreditation processes preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of hospital quality standards and accreditation requirements.
- Understanding of patient safety and risk management principles.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Audit and documentation management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and hospital information systems.
