General Summary
The Statistical Analyst is responsible for leading recurring and ad hoc analytical initiatives for Data Axle’s external customers, with a strong emphasis on advanced SAS-based data analysis and statistical programming. This role owns the end-to-end analytical lifecycle—from data acquisition and validation to modeling, insight generation, and standardized reporting—leveraging multiple internal and client data sources. This position requires strong SAS expertise (3+ years), the ability to pivot across tools and datasets, and the urgency and agility to operate effectively within a matrixed environment while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to drive measurable business impact.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Own and lead recurring and ad hoc analytical deliverables for Data Axle’s external clients, utilizing SAS as the primary statistical programming tool and integrating multiple internal and client-specific data sources
2. Develop, maintain, and optimize reporting assets/programs to perform advanced statistical analysis, data manipulation, validation, profiling, and performance measurement.
3. Perform data preparation and analysis using SQL and Python; Summarize insights using Microsoft Excel and create basic visualizations in Tableau
4. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure analyses are actionable and aligned to business objectives; proactively investigate data anomalies and highlight key trends
5. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and governance, adhering to standardized reporting frameworks and best practices
6. Operate with a high sense of urgency, managing multiple priorities simultaneously while navigating a matrixed organizational structure.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
2. Minimum 3+ years of hands-on SAS programming experience in a business intelligence, analytics, or statistical analysis role. SAS Certification (e.g., SAS Certified Specialist, Base Programmer, Advanced Programmer, or equivalent) is strongly preferred
3. 2–3 years of experience in business intelligence and analytics, with demonstrated expertise in building and analyzing datasets using SQL, Microsoft Excel, and Tableau (Power BI & Python are a plus).
4. Strong ability to operate in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with a high sense of ownership and urgency
5. Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to independently access data, derive insights, and proactively communicate risks, issues, and updates
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, concise insights for diverse audiences.
7. Prior experience supporting or working with North America–based clients and stakeholders (US/Canada) is required
8. Willingness and flexibility to attend meetings during US business hours.
9. Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP); prior exposure to Databricks is a plus.
