A Furniture Industry Drilling Machine Operator sets up, calibrates, and operates industrial boring equipment (such as CNC machines or multi-spindle drill presses) to create holes in wood, laminate, or MDF panels. They ensure components are accurately drilled according to furniture blueprints while minimizing raw material waste and maintaining strict quality control.
Core Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Calibration: Adjust drilling speeds, depths, and bit alignments to match specific furniture manufacturing blueprints, technical drawings, or cut tickets.
- Operation: Feed raw wooden boards and panels into the machine, run the drilling sequence, and monitor the process to ensure flawless execution
- Quality Assurance: Verify drilled holes against product specifications using calipers, tape measures, or gauges. Inspect pieces for splintering, incorrect sizing, or misalignment.
- Maintenance: Perform daily routine maintenance checks, clean the workspace, lubricate moving parts, and replace worn-out drill bits
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like safety glasses, ear protection, and dust masks
- Production Logs: Record production data, material yield, and equipment issues for inventory tracking and quality control.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in woodworking, carpentry, or general heavy/automated machinery operation.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, interpret engineering specifications, and handle precision measuring tools.
- Physical Capabilities: Stamina to stand for extended shifts and the physical strength to lift heavy materials and repetitive machine parts.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or certification in CNC operation is a major advantage.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and good teamwork
Pay: ₹25,000.00 per month
