We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian Defence forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric High Altitude Pseudo Satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.
We are seeking a dynamic Business Development & Sales professional to drive revenue growth, build strong client relationships, and support strategic partnerships in the Defence and aerospace ecosystem. The role involves identifying business opportunities, engaging with government/Defence stakeholders, preparing proposals, and managing the end-to-end sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Development & Sales- Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities with Defence, MHA and Government stakeholders.
- Drive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management- Develop trusted relationships with key decision-makers in Defence PSUs, Armed forces, MHA and relevant ministries.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their requirements are understood and addressed.
Proposals & Bidding- Lead preparation of technical and commercial proposals, RFPs, and tender submissions.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure client requirements are effectively translated into solutions.
Strategic Growth- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to shape business strategy.
- Support in forging partnerships, MoUs, and joint ventures with domestic and global defence companies.
- Represent NewSpace at defence expos, conferences, and industry forums.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Business / Management; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or key account management (in Defence, Aerospace, or High-Tech industries involving Govt Sales). Total work experience of minimum 10+ years.
- Strong understanding of Defence procurement processes for Revenue Procurement of Indian Defence Forces or Procurement process of Ministry of Home Affairs.
- Prior experience of handling Defence Procurement or Equipment Management in the Armed Forces would be preferred.
- Clear understanding and functional knowledge of DAP, DPM, GFRs.
- Veterans from Indian Army, Air Force or Indian Navy would get a preference for this role.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to drive deals from lead to closure.
- Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work in a start-up environment.
- Willingness to travel for 30% of time.
- Functional knowledge and hands on experience of working on any of the commonly used CRM software.
