Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsman – HVAC who will be responsible for preparing HVAC drawings, extracting quantities from layouts, preparing BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and supporting project execution teams. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and hands-on experience in drafting and BOQ preparation.
Key Responsibilities
1. HVAC Drafting & Design
Prepare HVAC layout drawings (VRF, Split AC, Ductable, Ventilation systems).
Create shop drawings, installation drawings, and as-built drawings.
Prepare ducting layouts, piping layouts, equipment placement drawings.
Coordinate with architects, consultants, and site engineers.
Revise drawings as per site changes and consultant comments.
2. BOQ Preparation & Quantity Take-Off
Prepare detailed BOQs from HVAC layout drawings.
Fill unpriced BOQs accurately as per tender requirements.
Calculate quantities of:
Copper piping (soft & hard drawn)
Refrigerant piping insulation
Ducting (GI / PI)
Insulation (thermal & acoustic)
Diffusers, grilles, dampers
Supports, clamps, sleeves
Drain piping
Control cables & power cables
Outdoor & indoor units
Perform material take-offs from drawings.
Prepare rate analysis sheets when required.
Cross-check quantities before submission.
3. Documentation & Tender Support
Assist in tender documentation.
Compare BOQs with drawings for discrepancies.
Maintain drawing register and BOQ records.
Coordinate with purchase team for material planning.
Support billing team with measurement sheets.
4. Coordination & Site Support
Visit site when required for measurement verification.
Coordinate with execution team for drawing clarifications.
Ensure drawings match actual site conditions.
Required Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D mandatory, 3D optional)
Strong understanding of HVAC systems (VRF, Split AC, Ducting, Ventilation)
Experience in quantity take-off and BOQ preparation
Good knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, quantity sheets)
Ability to read architectural & MEP drawings
Attention to detail and accuracy in calculations
Preferred Qualifications
Diploma / ITI / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Experience working with HVAC contractors or dealers
Knowledge of estimation software (added advantage)
