Job Summary
The Yoga Teacher is responsible for teaching Yoga to students in alignment with the guidelines of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The teacher will promote physical fitness, mental well-being, discipline, and holistic development in accordance with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020).
The role includes curriculum planning, practical training, theory instruction (where applicable), assessment, and organization of yoga-related activities and wellness programs.
Key Responsibilities1. Curriculum Planning & Instruction
- Teach Yoga (theory and practical) as per CBSE Senior Secondary curriculum.
- Prepare Annual Plans, Unit Plans, and Lesson Plans.
- Conduct structured sessions including:
- Asanas
- Pranayama
- Meditation
- Relaxation techniques
- Yogic philosophy (as per syllabus)
- Ensure age-appropriate and safe practice techniques.
- Integrate wellness, mindfulness, and stress management strategies.
2. Practical Training & Safety
- Demonstrate and supervise yoga practices with proper alignment and posture correction.
- Ensure safety protocols to prevent injuries.
- Modify practices for students with health conditions (in coordination with school authorities).
- Maintain discipline and decorum during practical sessions.
3. Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct practical and theory assessments as per CBSE norms.
- Maintain performance records and attendance.
- Prepare question papers and evaluation sheets.
- Provide constructive feedback to students.
4. Co-curricular & Wellness Initiatives
- Organize:
- International Yoga Day celebrations
- Wellness workshops and camps
- Meditation and stress-relief sessions during exams
- Promote healthy lifestyle habits across the school.
- Collaborate with Physical Education department for holistic fitness programs.
5. Administrative & School Responsibilities
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development programs.
- Maintain yoga equipment and practice spaces.
- Contribute to school assemblies and special events.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by school leadership.
Eligibility Criteria (As per CBSE Norms)
- Postgraduate degree in Yoga / Yoga Science / with Yoga specialization
- B.Ed. (recognized by NCTE) where applicable
- Certification in Yoga from a recognized institution
- Minimum eligibility as prescribed by CBSE
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of yogic practices and philosophy.
- Ability to conduct both theory and practical classes.
- Excellent demonstration and communication skills.
- Classroom and session management skills.
- Awareness of adolescent psychology.
- First-aid knowledge preferred.
Experience
- 2–5 years of teaching experience preferred.
- Experience in conducting yoga workshops/camps is an added advantage.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
