FIRMWARE ENGINEER

1. Job Summary
We are looking for a Firmware Engineer to join our R&D team and take responsibility for the design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance of firmware for embedded, BLE, Wi-Fi, and IoT-based electronic products.
The candidate will work closely with the Hardware, R&D, Production, and Testing teams to develop reliable firmware, integrate hardware and software, troubleshoot product issues, and support the transition of products from development to production.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware using C/C++.
- Develop firmware for MCU, BLE, Wi-Fi, and IoT-based products.
- Work on hardware–firmware integration and board bring-up.
- Develop drivers and interfaces for sensors and peripheral devices.
- Work with UART, SPI, I²C, GPIO, ADC, PWM, USB, and other communication interfaces.
- Develop and troubleshoot BLE functionality, including services, characteristics, advertising, pairing, and connectivity.
- Work with BLE/Wi-Fi platforms such as Nordic, ESP32, STM32, Silicon Labs, or equivalent.
- Debug firmware and hardware-related issues using appropriate debugging equipment.
- Conduct firmware testing, validation, and troubleshooting before product release.
- Support production teams in firmware programming, testing, and resolving firmware-related failures.
- Ensure that only approved and latest firmware versions are used for production.
- Maintain firmware source code using Git/version-control systems.
- Prepare firmware release notes, technical documentation, and test reports.
- Coordinate with Hardware Engineers for component, circuit, and firmware integration issues.
- Support development and validation of production testing jigs.
- Investigate field/production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Optimize firmware for performance, memory, reliability, and power consumption.
- Participate in product development, design reviews, and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain regular project/task updates and provide development status reports.
3. Required Technical Skills
Must Have:
- Strong hands-on experience in Embedded C/C++.
- Practical experience with microcontrollers/SoCs.
- Experience in BLE and/or Wi-Fi firmware development.
- Strong understanding of UART, SPI, I²C, GPIO, ADC, PWM, and interrupts.
- Experience in firmware debugging and troubleshooting.
- Ability to understand schematics, datasheets, and hardware interfaces.
- Experience with Git or another version-control system.
- Good understanding of hardware–firmware integration.
Preferred:
- Experience with Nordic nRF52/nRF53, ESP32, STM32, or Silicon Labs.
- Experience with FreeRTOS/RTOS.
- Knowledge of BLE GATT/GAP and BLE communication.
- Experience with Wi-Fi and TCP/IP fundamentals.
- Experience with MQTT/HTTP.
- Experience with OTA firmware updates.
- Knowledge of bootloader development.
- Experience with low-power embedded applications.
- Experience with production test fixtures/jigs.
- Knowledge of electronics components and PCB/PCBA.

5. Education & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant hands-on firmware/embedded development experience.
- Candidates with experience in BLE, Wi-Fi, IoT, embedded electronics, wireless modules, or electronic product development will be preferred.

7. Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Firmware/Embedded Engineer who can independently develop, debug, test, and release firmware for electronic products.
Candidates with experience in BLE modules, Wi-Fi modules, IoT devices, Nordic, ESP32, STM32, RF/wireless products, embedded systems, or consumer/industrial electronics will be highly preferred.
The candidate should have strong problem-solving, debugging, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills and be comfortable working in an on-site R&D and manufacturing environment.
