Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced VMC Milling Machine Operator to operate Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) and produce high-precision components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machine operations, technical drawings, and quality standards, and be capable of working with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: 2+ years operating VMC machines in a precision manufacturing environment.
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
- Proficiency in CNC/VMC operations and tool offsets.
- Familiarity with G-code and M-code (basic level).
- Knowledge of machining parameters and tool life optimization.
- Attention to detail and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to maintain production logs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Mitsubishi controllers.
- Basic knowledge of CAM software (optional).
- Exposure to ISO quality systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate VMC milling machines to perform machining operations per specifications.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to understand component dimensions and tolerances.
- Load raw materials and secure workpieces on the machine.
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools and fixtures.
- Monitor machine operations to detect issues and ensure product quality.
- Perform in-process inspection using precision instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and tools.
- Troubleshoot and adjust machine settings to improve production efficiency.
- Maintain accurate production records and follow safety and quality procedures.
Collaborate with quality and production teams to meet output targets and deadlines.
