Electronics Engineer Intern – Defence Power Systems R&D
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electronics Engineer Intern to support our ongoing Research and Development (R&D) activities in the field of defence-grade battery systems and power converter design. The intern will work closely with the engineering team on the design, development, testing, and validation of advanced power solutions intended for mission-critical defence applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of defence-grade battery systems and power electronic converters.
- Support circuit design, schematic development, PCB review, and component selection activities.
- Participate in laboratory testing, characterization, and performance evaluation of batteries and power conversion systems.
- Conduct electrical measurements, data acquisition, and analysis using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and electronic loads.
- Assist in prototype assembly, debugging, troubleshooting, and validation testing.
- Prepare test reports, technical documentation, and design records.
- Support reliability, environmental, and qualification testing activities in accordance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate design improvements and optimize system performance.
- Follow engineering processes, quality standards, and safety procedures during development and testing activities.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), or a related discipline.
- Basic understanding of analog and digital electronics, power electronics, and embedded systems.
- Familiarity with electronic test and measurement instruments.
- Knowledge of battery technologies, power converters, DC-DC converters, or power management systems is desirable.
- Ability to analyze technical data and prepare engineering reports.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with circuit simulation tools such as LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent.
- Basic PCB design knowledge using tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle.
- Understanding of battery management systems (BMS) and power system integration.
- Exposure to defence, aerospace, or high-reliability electronic systems is an added advantage.
