About the Role
The MIS Executive will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and strengthening data systems to support program implementation and decision-making. The role involves overseeing data collection processes, maintaining databases, ensuring data quality, generating reports and dashboards, and supporting monitoring and evaluation activities. The MIS Executive will work closely with field teams and program staff to ensure timely, accurate, and actionable information for internal reviews, donors, government stakeholders, and project partners.
Key Responsibilities1. Data Collection & Management
- Oversee household-level data collection and submissions through Kobo/ODK platforms.
- Ensure timely synchronization, cleaning, validation, and structuring of project datasets.
- Maintain and update centralized databases and master data repositories.
- Monitor data completeness and accuracy across all program activities.
2. Monitoring & Reporting
- Track daily, weekly, and monthly data submissions and identify reporting gaps.
- Generate MIS reports and periodic updates for internal teams, government partners, and stakeholders.
- Support preparation of progress reports and operational performance summaries.
3. Dashboard Development & Data Visualization
- Develop, update, and maintain dashboards using Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Create visual reports, charts, and performance trackers for program monitoring and decision-making.
- Ensure dashboards reflect real-time or near real-time project progress where applicable.
4. Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Support
- Support baseline, endline, pilot, and assessment data management processes.
- Assist in indicator tracking, data validation, and quality assurance activities.
- Coordinate with M&E teams to ensure compliance with project monitoring frameworks.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare datasets, summary tables, analytical reports, and visual presentations.
- Support documentation requirements for donors, government departments, and internal reviews.
- Maintain organized records of data submissions, reports, and project documentation.
6. System & Process Automation
- Design, update, and manage digital data collection forms using Kobo/ODK or related platforms.
- Develop and maintain automated data-cleaning templates and validation processes.
- Improve data workflows and streamline reporting mechanisms.
7. Coordination with Field Teams
- Provide technical support and guidance to field teams on data collection tools and protocols.
- Follow up on incomplete, missing, or inaccurate data submissions.
- Conduct training and refresher sessions on MIS processes and digital data collection systems.
8. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular data quality checks and verification exercises.
- Maintain clean and audit-ready datasets.
- Ensure adherence to organizational data management protocols and reporting standards.
9. Program Analytics & Strategic Support
- Analyze trends, patterns, and operational data to generate actionable insights.
- Support program teams with evidence-based recommendations for improving implementation and outcomes.
- Contribute to learning and adaptation processes through data-driven analysis.
10. IT & Digital Support
- Manage shared drives, data backups, and user access permissions.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues related to MIS tools and digital systems.
- Support implementation and maintenance of digital data infrastructure.
Typical Day-to-Day Activities
- Reviewing and validating new household submissions from Kobo/ODK platforms.
- Updating central databases and MIS records.
- Cleaning and verifying daily and weekly datasets.
- Updating dashboards, trackers, and reporting sheets.
- Coordinating with field teams to resolve data discrepancies.
- Running automated validation and data-cleaning processes.
- Preparing visualizations, summaries, and tables for meetings and reviews.
- Supporting digital form updates and troubleshooting data system issues.
- Conducting quick data checks and generating reports for management decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in MIS, data management, monitoring & evaluation, or related roles.
- Experience working with Kobo Toolbox, ODK, Excel, Google Sheets, or other data management platforms.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, dashboards).
- Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or other visualization tools.
- Familiarity with Kobo Toolbox, ODK, or digital data collection platforms.
- Strong data cleaning, validation, and analytical skills.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, automation tools, or scripting languages is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
