Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering may be considered with extensive relevant experience.
Experience
- 12–18 years of experience in Purchase, Procurement, Vendor Development, and Supply Chain Management.
- Experience in Automobile, Auto Components, Bus Body Manufacturing, Commercial Vehicles, Pneumatic Systems, Sheet Metal, Fabrication, or Engineering Manufacturing industries is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role handling procurement teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Strategic Sourcing
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead procurement activities for raw materials, bought-out components, fabricated parts, pneumatic systems, electrical components, and consumables.
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard new suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and implement supplier development programs.
Vendor Development
- Develop reliable domestic and international supplier networks.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and long-term supply agreements.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering and strategic sourcing.
- Build long-term relationships with key suppliers.
Production Planning Support
- Coordinate with Production Planning, Stores, and Sales teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual material requirements based on production forecasts.
- Ensure uninterrupted material availability while maintaining optimum inventory levels.
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock to minimize carrying costs.
- Control slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory.
- Ensure adherence to inventory control policies.
Cost Management
- Prepare and monitor procurement budgets.
- Analyze material costs and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Participate in product costing exercises.
- Drive annual procurement cost reduction targets.
Supplier Coordination
- Ensure timely procurement of materials as per production schedules.
- Resolve supply chain issues affecting production.
- Coordinate with Accounts for vendor payment reconciliation.
- Ensure supplier compliance with delivery schedules and quality standards.
Cross Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Design, Engineering, Quality, Production, Stores, Finance, and Projects.
- Coordinate engineering drawing revisions and communicate technical changes to suppliers.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) through timely sourcing and supplier development.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure supplier compliance with:
- ISO 9001:2015
- IATF 16949
- Company Quality Standards
- Participate in supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Team Management
- Lead and mentor the Purchase team.
- Set departmental KPIs and monitor performance.
- Develop SOPs and best procurement practices.
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and ethical sourcing standards.
Reporting & MIS
- Prepare procurement MIS reports for management.
- Track procurement KPIs including:
- Purchase Cost Savings
- Vendor Performance
- Inventory Turnover
- Material Availability
- On-Time Delivery
- Procurement Budget vs Actual
Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
