Overview:
Playwright Automation Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Playwright Automation Lead to drive the design, development, and implementation of scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright. The ideal candidate will lead automation initiatives, mentor team members, and collaborate closely with development and product teams to ensure high-quality software delivery. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership capability, and a quality-first mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of end-to-end UI and API automation frameworks using Playwright.

Define and implement automation strategies covering UI, API, and integration testing.

Mentor and guide QA engineers in automation best practices, including API testing standards.

Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to understand requirements and define comprehensive test strategies.

Design, develop, and execute automated API test suites (REST/GraphQL).

Ensure seamless integration of UI and API automation into CI/CD pipelines.

Analyze test results, identify defects, and drive root cause analysis across application layers.

Continuously improve test coverage, execution efficiency, and maintainability.

Establish quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.

Review automation code and enforce coding standards and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

6–10 years of experience in software testing, with at least 4+ years in automation.

Strong hands-on experience in Playwright for UI and API automation.

Proven experience in leading QA/automation teams.

Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and modern testing practices.
Essential skills:
- Strong expertise in Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript (UI + API testing).

Hands-on experience in API automation (REST/GraphQL) using Playwright or similar tools.

Experience with API tools like Postman or REST Assured.

Ability to validate API responses, schemas, authentication (OAuth, JWT), and error handling.

Experience in building hybrid frameworks covering UI and API automation.

Proficiency in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

Knowledge of version control systems like Git.

Strong understanding of test design techniques and QA methodologies.

Experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, and service-layer testing.

Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Desired skills:
- Experience with contract testing and tools like Pact.

Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.

Exposure to containerization tools like Docker.

Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter.
