Job Title: QA/QC Engineer – Pressure Vessels / Heat Exchangers (U-Stamp)
Location: Mangoan
Experience: 5–10 years (fabrication of pressure vessels / heat exchangers)
Reporting To: QA/QC Manager / Plant Head
Job Purpose
To ensure product quality and full compliance with ASME requirements for U-stamped equipment through effective implementation of QA/QC systems, inspection, documentation, and coordination with Authorized Inspector (AI) and TPI.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality System & Documentation
- Prepare and implement Quality Assurance Plan (QAP/ITP).
- Control MDR (Manufacturer Data Report) documentation.
- Maintain WPS, PQR, WPQ records and ensure validity.
- Review and control drawings, procedures, and specifications.
- Ensure traceability of materials (heat number, MTCs).
2. Incoming Material Inspection
- Verify MTCs as per EN 10204 (3.1/2.2).
- Perform material identification and traceability marking.
- Conduct PMI (if applicable).
- Ensure compliance with ASME material specifications.
3. In-Process Inspection
- Fit-up inspection (alignment, root gap, edge prep).
- Welding inspection:
- Preheat / interpass temperature
- Welding parameters
- Dimensional checks of shell, nozzles, tubesheets.
- Tube-to-tubesheet joint inspection (expansion/welding).
- Monitor heat treatment (PWHT).
4. NDT Coordination & Review
- Coordinate and review:
- RT / UT / PT / MT
- Ensure compliance with ASME Section V & VIII acceptance criteria.
- Maintain NDT reports and traceability.
5. Final Inspection & Testing
- Hydrostatic / pneumatic testing as per code.
- Visual inspection before dispatch.
- Final dimensional inspection.
- Review and compilation of MDR dossier.
6. U Stamp Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with:
- ASME Section VIII Division 1
- Quality Control Manual (QCM)
- Coordinate with:
- Authorized Inspector (AI)
- Jurisdictional authority
- Handle:
- U-stamp audits
- Joint reviews
- Ensure proper stamping procedure and documentation.
7. Vendor & Subcontractor Quality
- Audit vendors (plates, forgings, tubes).
- Review subcontractor processes (machining, PWHT, NDT).
8. Client & TPI Interaction
- Attend inspection calls.
- Close NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
- Provide technical justifications where required.

Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
- NDT Level II (RT/UT/PT/MT preferred)
- Welding Inspector certification (CSWIP / AWS – added advantage)

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
