About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to manage and grow strategic hospital and clinic accounts. This role will take ownership of customer relationships after an enterprise account is signed, ensuring successful product adoption, customer engagement, retention, and revenue expansion.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in healthcare business development, hospital account management, or specialized healthcare/pharma solutions, with the ability to work closely with doctors, hospital administrators, procurement teams, nursing teams, and other key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of enterprise accounts after onboarding and drive successful product adoption.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, clinics, doctors, administrators, procurement teams, and other stakeholders.
- Understand customer workflows, usage patterns, and business needs to identify opportunities for account expansion.
- Drive upselling and cross-selling of additional products, modules, solutions, and upgrades.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address challenges and pain points.
- Identify early signs of churn and take corrective action to improve retention.
- Ensure customers continue to realize meaningful clinical and commercial value from the platform.
- Drive account revenue growth and maximize customer lifetime value.
- Plan and execute doctor meets, training programs, stakeholder engagement activities, and other customer engagement initiatives.
- Work closely with Sales, Product, Customer Support, and other internal teams to resolve customer issues and improve the overall customer experience.
- Coach and guide clinic-level customer teams or KAM/Support executives where required.
- Maintain strong visibility and engagement across assigned customer accounts.
What We’re Looking For
- 5–6 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
- Healthcare Business Development
- Hospital / Healthcare Account Management
- Pharma, particularly new therapies or innovative drugs, preferably as part of a GTM team
- Specialized diagnostics such as genomics, genetic screening, or stem cell banking
- Experience managing hospital or clinic accounts, preferably with post-sale engagement and revenue responsibility.
- Strong experience managing multiple stakeholders, including doctors, hospital administrators, procurement teams, and nursing staff.
- Strong understanding of hospital workflows and healthcare operations.
- Excellent relationship management, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and a high degree of ownership.
- Ability to understand and communicate the clinical and commercial value of healthcare technology/products.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering, Allied Health, or B.Tech with healthcare exposure.
- MBA in Healthcare, Marketing, or General Management is an advantage but not mandatory.
Additional Requirements
- Strong command of English and the relevant local language.
- Willingness to travel frequently to hospitals, clinics, and customer locations.
- Comfortable collaborating with Sales, Product, Customer Support, and other cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and digital communication platforms.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, success means building strong customer relationships, driving consistent product adoption, reducing churn, and expanding revenue within existing enterprise accounts through strategic upselling and cross-selling.
