- Ensure smooth day-to-day transportation operations across Ahmedabad Division.
- Monitor vehicle placement, dispatch planning, and route optimization.
- Maintain high vehicle utilization and reduce idle time.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of consignments.
2. Load Planning & Dispatch Management
- Plan loads efficiently to maximize profitability and vehicle capacity utilization.
- Coordinate with branches, clients, and vendors for smooth dispatch operations.
- Monitor daily dispatch schedules and shipment movement.
3. Vendor & Transporter Management
- Develop and maintain a strong vendor/transporter network.
- Negotiate freight rates and transportation contracts.
- Ensure vendor compliance with company policies and operational standards.
- Monitor transporter performance and service quality.
4. Cost Control & Budget Management
- Control operational expenses including diesel, detention, and freight costs.
- Monitor trip profitability and reduce unnecessary operational losses.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without affecting service quality.
5. Team Management & Supervision
- Supervise traffic coordinators, dispatch staff, and operational teams.
- Conduct regular team reviews and operational meetings.
- Ensure proper manpower utilization and discipline.
6. Customer Service & Client Coordination
- Maintain strong communication with customers regarding shipment status.
- Resolve client complaints and operational issues promptly.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and service quality.
7. KPI Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and analyze operational KPIs such as:
- On-Time Delivery (OTD)
- Vehicle Utilization
- Transit Time
- Freight Cost per Trip
- Load Factor
- Vendor Performance
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
8. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with transportation laws, permits, and safety standards.
- Monitor vehicle documentation, insurance, and fitness records.
- Promote safe driving and operational safety practices.
9. Process Improvement
- Implement SOPs for operational efficiency.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and improve workflow processes.
- Use technology and tracking systems for operational monitoring.
10. Branch Coordination & Business Support
- Coordinate with Ahmedabad Division branches for smooth logistics execution.
- Support business development through operational efficiency.
- Ensure availability of vehicles during peak business requirements
