About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Development Editor to join its Digital Enablement & Care team. In this role, you will collaborate with technical writers, content strategists, UX designers, product managers, and engineering teams to improve the quality, clarity, consistency, and usability of Adobe's customer-facing Help content.
You will play a key role in mentoring writers, maintaining editorial standards, improving documentation quality, and helping teams adopt AI-assisted content creation workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, edit, and improve customer-facing technical documentation, Help articles, and knowledge base content.
- Provide developmental editing to improve content structure, clarity, tone, readability, accessibility, and usability.
- Coach and mentor technical writers through constructive editorial feedback.
- Maintain editorial standards, style guides, terminology, and documentation best practices.
- Partner with Product Managers, UX Designers, Technical Writers, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality documentation.
- Analyze customer feedback, content performance, and search trends to continuously improve documentation quality.
- Recommend improvements to content organization, navigation, and overall customer experience.
- Contribute to AI-assisted content creation by developing prompts, testing workflows, and promoting responsible AI usage.
- Ensure consistency across documentation while supporting localization and accessibility requirements.
Required Skills
- 8–12 years of experience in Developmental Editing, Technical Writing, Content Strategy, UX Writing, or Technical Documentation.
- Strong experience reviewing and improving technical or customer-facing documentation.
- Excellent editing, proofreading, and written communication skills.
- Experience mentoring writers and providing editorial guidance.
- Strong understanding of editorial standards, style guides, and documentation governance.
- Experience collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, UX, and cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with documentation tools such as Confluence, MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, DITA XML, Oxygen XML, Markdown, or similar.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with customer-facing Help Centers or Knowledge Base documentation.
- Familiarity with SEO and content optimization best practices.
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or Gemini.
- Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive writing principles.
- Experience using customer insights, analytics, or search data to improve documentation.
- Exposure to documentation lifecycle management and content governance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Technical Communication, Journalism, Communications, Instructional Design, or a related field.
- Equivalent experience in Technical Writing or Documentation may also be considered.
Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
