About the Role
ShishuVihar School, Parel, is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Home Science Teacher to teach primary-level students. The ideal candidate will bring practical, hands-on teaching methods to help young learners build essential life skills around nutrition, hygiene, home management, and basic life-skills concepts appropriate to their age group.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Home Science lessons for primary-level students covering nutrition, hygiene, basic life skills, and home management concepts
- Design age-appropriate practical activities and demonstrations to reinforce classroom learning
- Assess student progress through class work, projects, and practical activities
- Prepare report cards and provide constructive feedback to students and parents
- Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom/activity environment
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and extracurricular activities
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and coordinate with school management on academic planning
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Home Science along with Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent degree in Home Science is preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience teaching Home Science at the primary/junior level
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Patient, creative, and hands-on teaching approach suited to young learners
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Basic computer proficiency for lesson planning and record-keeping
Salary
As per industry standards, commensurate with experience.
