Role Description The PD Head is a full-time, on-site role based in Noida, responsible for leading the product development function across apparel and accessories. This role oversees the end-to-end product development cycle, from conceptualization and design brief interpretation to sampling, costing, and pre-production approval. The PD Head collaborates closely with buyers, designers, merchandisers, and vendors to align collections with market trends, client briefs, and brand positioning. Daily tasks include planning seasonal collections, reviewing tech packs, monitoring sample timelines, ensuring quality and fit standards, and optimizing development costs and lead times. The role also involves mentoring the PD team, coordinating with sourcing and QA to ensure feasibility and production readiness, and using market and competitor insights to drive innovation and best-selling ranges.
Qualifications
- Strong background in product development for apparel, accessories, with experience managing the full development cycle from concept to production handover.
- Demonstrated ability to work with design teams to interpret trends, mood boards, and buyer briefs into commercially viable product ranges.
- Experience collaborating with sourcing, merchandising, and QA teams to align design intent with cost, lead time, and quality requirements.
- Proficiency in coordinating with vendors and factories across multiple locations, including managing sampling calendars, approvals, and follow-ups.
- Solid understanding of fabrics, trims, washes, finishes, construction, and fit, including ability to review and comment on samples and specs.
- Experience in supply chain and production processes, including awareness of lead times, capacity planning, and cost optimization in a sourcing environment.
- Strong leadership skills, including team management, coaching, delegation, and performance oversight for PD and sampling teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for interacting with international buyers, internal design teams, and vendor partners.
- Comfort with data and market intelligence, using sales feedback and competitor research to refine collections and build best sellers.
Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
