Pharmacist
Job Summary
The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, reviewing prescriptions for appropriateness, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining inventory, and providing medication-related information to patients and healthcare professionals to promote safe and effective use of medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and legality before dispensing.
- Dispense medications accurately in accordance with physician prescriptions and hospital policies.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, side effects, storage, and precautions.
- Monitor for drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, and duplicate therapies.
- Maintain proper documentation of narcotic, controlled, and high-risk medications.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, NABH, and hospital pharmacy guidelines.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels and monitor stock expiry.
- Receive, store, and issue medicines following Good Storage Practices.
- Participate in medication safety initiatives and adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication-related queries.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the pharmacy.
- Assist in periodic stock audits and inventory reconciliation.
- Ensure accurate billing and documentation of dispensed medications.
- Support implementation of quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)
- Valid State Pharmacy Council Registration (Mandatory) (KSPC)
Experience
- Freshers or 1–3 years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy.
- Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology and pharmaceutical practices.
- Knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations.
- Good communication and patient counseling skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Computer proficiency and familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
- Inventory and stock management skills.
- Ability to work in shifts and handle emergency situations.
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to patient confidentiality.
Good to Have
- Knowledge of NABH standards.
- Experience with medication safety programs.
- Familiarity with pharmacy inventory software.
- Basic understanding of antimicrobial stewardship and pharmacovigilance.

Pay: ₹23,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
