Teacher Position - Social Science Teacher (Grades VI–X )
Location: Bhavani
Job Summary
The Social Science Teacher is responsible for teaching subjects such as History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, and Civics in accordance with the curriculum prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The teacher will help students develop analytical thinking, social awareness, and an understanding of historical, geographical, political, and economic concepts.
Key Responsibilities Teaching and Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Social Science lessons aligned with the CBSE syllabus.
- Teach History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, and Civics effectively.
- Use interactive teaching methods, discussions, projects, maps, and digital resources to enhance learning.
- Encourage critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and problem-solving skills.
Assessment and Evaluation
- Prepare and administer tests, assignments, projects, and examinations.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain records of student progress, attendance, and academic achievement.
- Prepare students for school assessments and CBSE examinations.
Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment.
- Foster respect, inclusivity, and active participation among students.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during classroom activities.
Student Development
- Identify individual learning needs and provide academic support.
- Encourage awareness of current affairs, citizenship values, and social responsibility.
- Guide students in developing research, presentation, and communication skills.
Administrative Duties
- Prepare lesson plans and maintain academic records.
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, training programs, and parent-teacher meetings.
- Participate in school events, educational trips, and co-curricular activities.
- Perform examination and invigilation duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Social Science, or a related field.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized institution.
- Strong knowledge of the CBSE curriculum and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a relevant Social Science subject.
- Previous teaching experience in a CBSE school.
- Familiarity with smart classroom technology and digital teaching tools.
