JOB DESCRIPTION (JD) – LAUNDRY SUPERVISOR
Position: Laundry Supervisor
Location: KGMU Laundry Services, Lucknow

Salary: Up to ₹25,000/- per month (Depending on Experience & Skills)
Key ResponsibilitiesLaundry Operations Management
- Supervise daily laundry operations including collection, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, packing, and dispatch of hospital linen.
- Ensure timely processing and delivery of clean linen to various hospital departments.
- Monitor linen flow and ensure uninterrupted laundry services.
- Ensure proper segregation of soiled, infected, and clean linen as per hospital infection control guidelines.
- Maintain quality standards for washed and finished linen.
Staff Supervision & Management
- Allocate duties and supervise laundry operators, helpers, and support staff.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, leave records, and shift scheduling.
- Train employees on standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety practices, and quality standards.
- Maintain discipline and productivity within the laundry team.
Record Keeping & Documentation
- Maintain all laundry-related records, registers, files, logbooks, and operational documents.
- Maintain linen inventory records, issue/receipt registers, stock records, and departmental linen movement records.
- Maintain attendance records, duty rosters, overtime records, and manpower deployment records.
- Maintain machine operation logs, preventive maintenance records, and breakdown reports.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports and MIS to management.
- Ensure proper filing, storage, and safekeeping of all documents for audits and compliance purposes.
Inventory & Store Management
- Monitor stock levels of detergents, chemicals, laundry bags, consumables, and spare parts.
- Maintain stock registers and consumption records.
- Report shortages and coordinate timely procurement of required materials.
- Minimize wastage of chemicals, water, electricity, and other resources.
Equipment & Maintenance
- Ensure proper operation and utilization of washing machines, dryers, hydro extractors, calenders, ironing equipment, and other laundry machinery.
- Report equipment malfunctions immediately and coordinate with maintenance teams.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to hospital hygiene standards and infection control protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of the laundry premises.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Assist during internal and external audits.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with hospital departments regarding linen requirements, complaints, shortages, and emergency requirements.
- Resolve operational issues and escalate critical concerns to management.
- Ensure smooth communication between laundry staff, hospital representatives, and company management.
Eligibility Criteria
- Graduate/Diploma holder preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in laundry operations, preferably in hospitals, healthcare facilities, hotels, or industrial laundries.
- Experience in handling manpower and laundry equipment operations.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, MS Word, Email, Reporting).
