Position: Electrical & Instrumentation Technician
Department: Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
Location: STP Site
Experience Required: 2–5 Years
Reporting To: Maintenance Engineer / Plant Manager
Job Summary
Responsible for operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems in the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted plant operation.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of motors, pumps, blowers, LT panels, MCC panels, VFDs, starters, and control panels.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore equipment to normal operation.
- Perform cable termination, panel wiring, motor connections, and electrical inspections.
- Monitor voltage, current, power factor, and energy consumption.
- Maintain earthing systems and electrical safety compliance.
Instrumentation Maintenance
- Calibrate and maintain field instruments including:
- Flow Meters
- Level Sensors/Transmitters
- pH Analyzers
- Dissolved Oxygen (DO) Analyzers
- Pressure Gauges/Transmitters
- Conductivity and ORP Analyzers
- Diagnose and rectify instrument and control loop faults.
- Ensure proper functioning of sensors, transmitters, actuators, and control valves.
- Maintain calibration records and instrument history.
Automation & Control Systems
- Monitor and assist in maintenance of PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
- Check I/O signals, communication networks, and control panel operations.
- Support troubleshooting of automation-related issues.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily maintenance logs and service records.
- Report equipment abnormalities and maintenance requirements.
- Record spare parts usage and calibration activities.
- Assist in preparing maintenance schedules and reports.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and permit-to-work systems.
- Adhere to plant safety standards and PPE requirements.
- Maintain good housekeeping in electrical and instrumentation areas.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems and motor control circuits.
- Experience with MCC panels, VFDs, starters, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of PLC, SCADA, and instrumentation systems.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
- Hands-on experience with calibration and testing instruments.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Qualification
- ITI Electrician / Instrument Mechanic, OR
- Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in STP, ETP, WTP, utility maintenance, or industrial electrical & instrumentation maintenance.
- Experience in operation and maintenance of treatment plant equipment and instrumentation preferred.

This role is ideal for candidates with 2–5 years of hands-on experience in STP/ETP/WTP electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
Pay: ₹10,956.27 - ₹41,089.34 per month
