Job Description – MEP Technician (ITI – RAC)

Qualification: ITI – Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (RAC)
Experience: 1–3 years in FMCG / Food / Ice Cream / Cold Storage / Manufacturing Plant preferred
Reporting To: Engineering / Maintenance Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain refrigeration and HVAC systems installed in the ice cream manufacturing plant.
- Attend breakdown and preventive maintenance of cold rooms, freezers and refrigeration equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot chillers, compressors, condensers, evaporators and cooling systems.
- Monitor temperature, pressure, refrigerant level, current and voltage of refrigeration equipment.
- Carry out refrigerant gas charging, leak testing, vacuuming, brazing and copper piping work.
- Maintain cold rooms, hardening/freezing rooms and storage freezers to ensure required temperature.
- Attend maintenance of AHU, FCU, split/package AC and ventilation systems.
- Support maintenance of pumps, motors, cooling towers and other utility equipment.
- Conduct regular inspection and preventive maintenance as per PM schedule.
- Maintain daily breakdown reports, maintenance checklists and equipment records.
- Ensure timely escalation of major equipment faults to the Engineering Supervisor/Manager.
- Coordinate with external technicians/vendors for specialized refrigeration and HVAC maintenance.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of refrigerants, tools, spares and maintenance equipment.
- Follow food plant hygiene, GMP, 5S, PPE, electrical and safety procedures.
- Support the Engineering team during plant shutdowns, equipment installation and commissioning.
Preferred: Candidates with hands-on experience in industrial refrigeration, cold storage, ice cream/FMCG plants, chillers or ammonia/freon-based refrigeration systems will be preferred.
Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
