Job Summary
The Billing Executive is responsible for preparing accurate patient bills, processing inpatient and outpatient billing transactions, coordinating with insurance/TPA teams, and ensuring a smooth billing experience for patients. The role requires excellent communication skills in Telugu to effectively assist patients and their attendants while maintaining compliance with hospital billing policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate accurate OP, IP, Emergency, and Day Care bills as per hospital policies.
- Verify patient demographics, services, investigations, procedures, and consumables before bill generation.
- Coordinate with departments to ensure timely billing of all services rendered.
- Explain billing details and payment procedures to patients and their attendants in Telugu, Tamil, or English as required.
- Process advance collections, final settlements, refunds, and payment receipts.
- Coordinate with Insurance/TPA and Corporate Billing teams for cashless approvals and billing documentation.
- Handle billing-related patient queries professionally and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure accurate posting of charges and timely closure of patient accounts.
- Maintain billing records, reports, and documentation in the Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Adhere to hospital billing policies, financial controls, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with Finance and other departments to reconcile billing discrepancies.
- Support NABH documentation and departmental quality initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of hospital billing processes and medical terminology.
- Experience working with Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate fluently in Telugu with patients and their families.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Competencies
- Experience in a multi-specialty hospital.
- Knowledge of Insurance/TPA and Corporate Billing procedures.
- Familiarity with NABH standards and healthcare billing regulations.
