Job Purpose:
The Clearing Officer is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and ensuring smooth execution of import and export customs clearance activities. The role involves liaising with customs departments, transporters, CHA (Custom House Agents), suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective clearance of materials and equipment required for manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Import & Export Clearance
- Coordinate and follow up with CHA for timely clearance of inbound and outbound shipments.
- Ensure all required documents (Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/AWB, COO, insurance, etc.) are accurate and available.
- Monitor clearance status and resolve issues with customs, port authorities, or transport agencies.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Verify HS Codes, duty structures, exemption notifications, and customs regulations.
- Maintain records of all import/export documentation for audit and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to legal, statutory, and company policies regarding international trade.
- Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, transporters, and internal procurement & warehouse teams.
- Track shipments and provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding expected arrival schedules.
- Coordinate with finance for payment of duties, demurrage prevention, and cost optimization.
o Ensure all Ex-works import cargos are insured on time bound basis.
- Cost Control
- Monitor and minimize demurrage and detention charges.
- Review and verify CHA and logistics invoices before processing.
- Suggest cost-effective and efficient shipping/clearance alternatives.
- Operational Logistics
- Ensure safe and timely movement of goods from port to company warehouse.
- Prepare gate passes, e-way bills, and related transportation documents where applicable.
- Support periodic stock checks and material reconciliation activities.
Skills & Competencies Required:
- Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures for import/export.
- Familiarity with HS Coding, DGFT notifications, and international trade regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience working with ERP systems (SAP/Tally/etc.).
- Excellent coordination, follow-up, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Supply Chain / Logistics / Related field.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
