We need someone to own how Viral Fission looks, sounds, and shows up everywhere: our Instagram page, our website, our decks, our PR, our app’s tone of voice. You’ll be the single point of consistency across every asset, and the person who keeps us culturally sharp with the youth audience.
What You’ll Do
- Build and lead the marketing strategy for Viral Fission as a brand in its own right — independent of client campaign marketing
- Guide and mentor the existing Social Media Executive on content strategy, calendar, and execution for the Instagram page — you set direction, she executes, you review
- Define and enforce a consistent brand language across website, app copy, PR communication, pitch decks, and social media — build a brand guideline/tone-of-voice document
- Own the communication style of the brand — how Viral Fission talks in a press release vs. an Instagram caption vs. a client deck, while staying recognizably “us”
- Track and analyze youth culture and content trends continuously — new formats, meme language, platform shifts — and translate them into actionable content/brand decisions rather than chasing every trend
- Brief and manage external vendors (designers, video editors, PR agencies) where needed,
- Partner closely with the Assistant Manager – Product & Insights to make sure brand/content decisions are informed by real user and community data
- Represent the brand’s voice in any external-facing moment — PR opportunities, partnerships, founder-led content, etc.
What We’re Looking For
- 2-3 years of experience in brand marketing, brand strategy, or content strategy — ideally at a youth-facing, D2C, media, or content-driven company
- Proven experience actually running or guiding a social media page — understands the difference between “posting content” and “building a voice and following”
- Excellent writing and communication skills — you’ll be the final check on tone across every single asset that leaves the company
- Deep, current, genuine fluency in youth/Gen Z internet culture — not something you have to research, something you live in
- People management experience or strong readiness to mentor and direct a junior executive
- Strategic judgment — able to say no to trends/ideas that don’t serve the brand, not just chase relevance for its own sake
- Bonus: experience working with or managing external creative/PR vendors
