Position Title: Yoga Therapist

Job Summary
The Yoga Therapist is responsible for planning and conducting therapeutic yoga sessions for patients undergoing Ayurvedic, naturopathy, rehabilitation, and wellness treatments. The role focuses on improving patients’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being through customized yoga practices, breathing techniques, meditation, and relaxation therapies.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Therapeutic Duties
- Assess patients’ physical condition, medical history, and treatment goals.
- Design individualized yoga therapy programs in consultation with doctors and naturopathy specialists.
- Conduct therapeutic yoga sessions for conditions such as back pain, arthritis, obesity, stress, anxiety, and lifestyle disorders.
- Teach asanas, pranayama, meditation, and relaxation techniques.
- Monitor patient progress and modify practices as needed.
Group Sessions
- Conduct daily group yoga classes for in-house patients and wellness guests.
- Lead morning yoga, meditation, and wellness sessions.
- Provide guidance on posture correction and breathing techniques.
Patient Education
- Educate patients on the benefits of yoga and lifestyle modification.
- Recommend home practice routines after discharge.
- Encourage stress management and holistic health practices.
Documentation
- Maintain attendance records and therapy progress notes.
- Record treatment outcomes and patient feedback.
- Prepare departmental reports as required.
Safety & Quality
- Ensure safe and proper execution of all yoga practices.
- Observe contraindications and modify poses for patients with limitations.
- Maintain cleanliness and discipline in the yoga hall and treatment area.
- Follow hospital safety, infection control, and quality standards.
Coordination
- Work closely with Ayurvedic doctors, naturopaths, physiotherapists, and nursing staff.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Coordinate patient schedules with the front office and operations teams.
Qualifications
- BNYS (Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences), M.Sc. Yoga, Diploma in Yoga Therapy, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Additional certifications in therapeutic yoga are an advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience as a Yoga Therapist preferred.
- Freshers with strong practical knowledge and good communication skills may also apply.
