An Equity Dealer cum Advisor for a Motilal Oswal sub-brokership is a dual-role professional responsible for high-speed trade execution and real-time client advisory based on technical research.
Core Responsibilities
- Terminal Operations & Execution:
- Execute buy/sell orders on behalf of clients using Motilal Oswal trading terminals (MO Trader/MO Investor) with 0% error.
- Monitor real-time market movements and manage the Risk Management System (RMS) for client positions.
- Real-time Advisory:
- Provide immediate "Buy/Sell/Hold" advice to clients on-call during market hours.
- Translate technical analysis into actionable trades tailored to the client's risk profile and goals.
- Research Synthesis:
- Disseminate Motilal Oswal’s daily research reports and technical calls to clients.
- Identify and evaluate secondary sources for technical analysis (e.g., Bloomberg, external charts) to validate MO's calls.
- Client Management:
- Manage high-net-worth (HNI) and retail portfolios, ensuring active client engagement.
- Reactivate dormant clients and acquire new clients through lead generation and cold calling.
Technical Analysis & Sources
A successful dealer in this role must integrate Motilal Oswal’s internal research with external insights:
- Primary Source: Motilal Oswal’s dedicated research desk, covering 250+ companies and providing real-time technical snapshots via the Partner App.
- Secondary Sources: Utilize external platforms such as TradingView, Investing.com, or Bloomberg Terminal for independent chart verification, candle-stick patterns, and indicator analysis (RSI, MACD, etc.).
Qualifications & Competencies
- Certification: NISM Series VIII: Equity Derivatives is mandatory.
- Education: 12th pass.
- Experience: Typically 0-2 years in stock broking or dealing.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in operating exchange terminals (NEST, ODIN, or proprietary MO software).
- Excellent communication skills for handling high-pressure client calls.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability to interpret market data instantly.
Compensation Expectations (2026)
- Estimated Salary: Average annual pay for advisors at Motilal Oswal ranges from ₹1.80 Lakhs to ₹4.5 Lakhs for mid-level roles, while experienced channel partners can earn significantly higher based on revenue sharing.
