About Position & Roles :
engineering role, responsible for providing a managed service to clients to ensure that their IT infrastructure and systems remain operational.
Through the proactive, monitoring, identifying, investigating, and resolving of technical incidents and problems.
The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L2) is able to restore
service to clients.
The primary objective of this role is to proactively review client requests or tickets and apply technical/process knowledge to resolve them without breaching service level agreement (SLA).
The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L2) focuses on second-line support for incidents and requests with a medium level of complexity and focusses across two or more technology domains - Cloud, Security, Networking, Applications and / or Collaboration etc.
This role may also contribute to / support on project work as and when required.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Degree BE/B.Tech/MCA in IT/Computer Science/ Electronics &
- Communication/Electronics or higher with Backup OEM Certification like EMC,
Veritas, Veeam.
- Total 5 - 7 years of experience in Enterprise Backup operations and
administration.
- Good exposure to Enterprise and operations support for LAN based, Fiber based
backup solution Hands-on experience on Veritas Netbackup solution
- Experience on Disk to Disk to Tape backup solutions
- Experience in managing backup policies creation, updates, deletion
- Experience in managing tapes along with labeling and catalog updates
- Experience in backup restoration from tapes or disk-based backup
- Knowledge and experience with Tape offsite requirements
- Management of Enterprise level servers (Linux/Windows).
- Engineer should have expertise in areas like troubleshooting and handling of
various backup solution including tape library related issues
- Patch management / security operations of backup solution
- Multi OEM Enterprise grade Tape Libraries (HP, IBM)
- Monitoring, upgrade (firmware) of Tape Library
- Installation of Tape Library and relevant zoning configuration
- Installation, configuration, and upgrade of Backup Solution
- Performance Monitoring & Management of backup solution & tape library
- Experience in Virtual Tape Library management
- DR solution design, build, implementation, and support for Backup solution
- Escalation Management (Internal, within NSEIL and with OEM
