Intuit's Chief Accounting Officer organization is seeking a full-time Accountant to join its Shared Services team in India. This role is central to the accurate and timely execution of general ledger (GL) accounting activities, and to preserving the integrity of Intuit's financial records in accordance with US GAAP and company policy. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who can independently manage day-to-day accounting deliverables, apply sound accounting judgment, partner effectively with cross-functional and global stakeholders, and consistently meet established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

This role is within the Controllership, Assurance & Operations organization. The position is located in Bangalore, India. The ideal candidate will have the ability to collaborate and lead across multiple functions and roles to achieve accounting objectives. If and when issues are identified, the leader will use their strong change management skills and to drive issues through to resolution and subsequent validation with the full transparency of involved stakeholders at all levels within the larger Intuit organization.
GL Support & Documentation: Partner with global accounting teams to gather, prepare, test, and maintain adequate documentation supporting journal entries, monthly accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations across a broad range of accounting areas, ensuring close timelines are consistently met.
GAAP Interpretation & Application: Apply sound judgment in interpreting US GAAP requirements to ensure accounting entries are properly recorded, substantiated, and communicated to external auditors as needed.
Risk Assessment: Assess risk across accounts and areas of responsibility to ensure accruals and reconciliations are properly supported and operating effectively, maintaining the financial integrity of accounting entries.
Balance Sheet Review: Conduct periodic analytical reviews of the balance sheet, incorporating trend analysis and clear commentary on the business drivers influencing account movements.
Monthly Accruals: Partner with Requestor and Financial Analyst communities to prepare monthly accruals, and identify and escalate processing errors to relevant teams, including AP and AR, for timely correction.
Process Improvement: Contribute to the identification and implementation of process simplification and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
Internal Controls: Implement and maintain a robust process and internal control environment, performing control procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with company policy.
Flexibility & Project Support: Maintain flexibility to support other accounting areas during periods of peak activity, and contribute to mid-month tasks for low-risk accounting projects and initiatives.
SLA / KPI Adherence: Ensure consistent adherence to established SLAs and KPIs across all accounting deliverables, supporting the overall performance of the Shared Services Center.
Qualifications
4+ years of relevant accounting experience, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Experience with SaaS or software-related accounting strongly preferred.
Public accounting or experience at a large public company is highly desirable.
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-business-unit environment.
Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
Working knowledge of Oracle and BlackLine is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in PC applications, spreadsheets, and word processing tools.
Chartered Accountant/CPA with minimum of 4 years experience preferred.
