The Lead Engineer (EMI/EMC Simulation) will serve as the technical leader for EMC simulation and electromagnetics analysis across multiple product platforms and businesses. The primary responsibility of this role is to establish and drive EMI/EMC simulation capability by developing advanced simulation methodologies, improving correlation accuracy, enabling simulation-driven product development, and mentoring engineers in advanced electromagnetic analysis. The incumbent will collaborate with electronics hardware, power electronics, PCB layout & Product development teams to influence product architecture decisions, identify EMC risks early, and strengthen the Analysis First development strategy.
Technical Leadership & Technology Development
- Lead EMI/EMC technology development initiatives across multiple product lines and businesses focusing more on conducted & radiated immunity predictions.
- Define and deploy EMI/EMC engineering methodologies, simulation workflows, design guidelines, and best practices.
- Own the technical roadmap for EMI/EMC simulation capabilities and analysis tools.
- Drive Design for EMC philosophy during product architecture, circuit design, packaging, and PCB layout phases.
- Research, evaluate, and implement emerging EMC technologies, simulation approaches, and industry best practices.
EMI/EMC Simulation Leadership
- Lead EMI/EMC simulations for power electronics, PCB assemblies, magnetic components, and electromechanical systems to identify compliance risks early in product development.
- Develop and standardize electromagnetic simulation methodologies, modeling practices, and design optimization approaches using industry-standard tools.
- Evaluate emissions and immunity performance, driving design decisions and recommending effective EMC mitigation strategies.
- Lead model validation, simulation-to-test correlation, and continuous improvement of prediction accuracy and simulation fidelity.
- Collaborate with hardware, PCB, mechanical, power electronics, and test teams to integrate EMC requirements early and minimize design iterations.
- Develop reusable workflows, templates, guidelines, and validation frameworks to promote simulation-driven EMC design across the organization.
- Resolve complex EMC challenges through physics-based analysis, virtual prototyping, root-cause investigations, and simulation-driven recommendations.
- Drive continuous improvement of simulation capabilities and serve as the technical authority for electromagnetic modeling, analysis quality, and virtual validation across development programs.
Cross-Functional Technical Leadership
- Lead technical reviews and influence key product architecture decisions.
- Support product teams in developing EMC compliance strategies and resolving complex EMC challenges throughout the product lifecycle.
- Interpret and apply EMC standards including IEC, CISPR, FCC, MIL-STD, DO-160 and other applicable standards.
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate EMC risks across multiple development programs.
Capability Building, Mentoring & Innovation
- Mentor and coach engineers and senior engineers in electromagnetics, EMI/EMC simulation, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Develop design guidelines, best practices, reusable simulation assets, and technical training material.
- Drive innovation through patents, invention disclosures, technical papers, and technology proposals.
- Participate in technical forums, conferences, university collaborations, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Contribute to the long-term growth of the organization’s EMI/EMC simulation competency and technical excellence.
