We are looking for an experienced Senior Purchase Executive to manage procurement activities for a pharmaceutical machinery manufacturing company. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, engineering components, fabrication items, electrical & pneumatic parts, vendor development, negotiation, and ensuring timely procurement as per production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end procurement activities for pharma machinery manufacturing.
- Purchase engineering items such as:
- SS raw materials
- Fabrication materials
- Motors, gearboxes, bearings
- Pneumatic & electrical components
- Valves, sensors, PLC-related items
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships.
- Compare quotations and negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare Purchase Orders (PO) and maintain procurement records.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Stores, and Accounts departments.
- Monitor inventory levels and avoid material shortages.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production deadlines.
- Conduct vendor evaluation and new vendor development.
- Maintain cost control and achieve procurement savings.
- Follow company purchase policies and quality standards.
- Handle ERP/MRP software entries and documentation.
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of engineering and pharma machinery components
- Understanding of fabrication and machining processes
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- MS Excel and reporting skills
- Commercial understanding of GST and purchase documentation
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
- 2–10 years experience in purchase/procurement
- Experience in pharma machinery or engineering manufacturing industry preferred
