Job Summary
The OT In-Charge is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Operation Theatre, ensuring smooth functioning, maintaining sterility standards, coordinating with surgeons and staff, and ensuring patient safety during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- OT Management
- Oversee the overall functioning of the Operation Theatre.
- Ensure OT schedules are properly planned and executed.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff.
- Staff Supervision
- Supervise OT nurses, technicians, and support staff.
- Prepare duty rosters and monitor staff attendance.
- Provide guidance and training to OT staff.
- Sterilization & Infection Control
- Ensure strict adherence to sterilization protocols.
- Monitor infection control practices inside OT.
- Maintain OT cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Equipment & Inventory Management
- Ensure all OT equipment are functioning properly.
- Maintain surgical instruments and OT supplies.
- Coordinate with biomedical and stores department for maintenance and stock.
- Patient Safety
- Ensure proper patient preparation before surgery.
- Verify surgical checklist and consent forms.
- Ensure patient safety protocols are followed.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain OT records, surgery registers, and reports.
- Prepare daily and monthly OT reports.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Coordination
- Coordinate with different departments such as ICU, wards, CSSD, and pharmacy.
- Ensure smooth patient transfer before and after surgery.
Qualifications
- B.Sc Nursing / Diploma in Nursing / OT Technology
- Minimum 10–25 years experience in Operation Theatre.
Skills Required
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and OT protocols
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work under pressure
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
