Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior IBM Mainframe Developer with 7+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting business-critical mainframe applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business and functional requirements and provide effective technical solutions.
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
- Develop and support online and batch processing applications in IBM Mainframe environments.
- Create, modify, and maintain JCLs for batch jobs and production processes.
- Develop and optimize DB2 programs, SQL queries, and database access modules.
- Work with VSAM files for data storage, retrieval, and maintenance activities.
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, batch, and production issues within defined SLAs.
- Support system enhancements, maintenance activities, and production deployments.
- Coordinate with business users, QA teams, and project stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and operational procedures.
- Participate in application support, incident management, and root cause analysis activities.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance when required.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM.
- Good understanding of IBM z/OS environment and mainframe architecture.
- Strong SQL and database programming skills in DB2.
- Experience in batch processing, job scheduling, and production support.
- Proficiency in debugging, performance tuning, and problem resolution.
- Knowledge of SDLC, change management, and release management processes.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with tools such as Endevor, Changeman, File-AID, SPUFI, Abend-AID, Expeditor, or similar mainframe utilities.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or Healthcare domains will be an added advantage.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
