The candidate should be a passionate and skilled Unreal XR Developer with 3–4 years of experience building immersive AR, VR, and Mixed Reality applications using Unreal Engine.
The candidate should also have a fair knowledge of unity, but main focus is on unreal professional experience. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in real-time 3D development, XR interaction systems, optimization for standalone and tethered XR devices, and a solid understanding of enterprise-grade immersive experiences.
Candidate who have shown collaboration with cross teams like designers, 3D artists, UX specialists, and technology teams to build next-generation training simulations, virtual spaces, games, product configurators, and mixed reality applications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and maintain XR applications using Unreal Engine 5.
2. Build immersive VR, AR, and MR experiences for enterprise and commercial applications as well as Desktop 3D applications.
3. Develop interaction systems using Blueprints and C++.
4. Integrate OpenXR, Meta XR SDK, hand tracking, eye tracking, passthrough, and spatial anchors.
5. Optimize applications for Meta Quest, Pico, HTC Vive and other XR devices.
6. Develop multiplayer and networked XR experiences when required.
7. Collaborate with 3D artists to integrate optimized assets, animations, materials, and visual effects.
8. Create scalable architectures and reusable XR frameworks.
9. Debug and optimize applications to maintain high frame rates and smooth user experiences.
10. Participate in technical planning, architecture discussions, code reviews, and client demonstrations.
11. Stay updated with advancements in XR, spatial computing, Unreal Engine, and AI-driven immersive technologies.
Required Skills
Core Technical Skills:
3–4 years of professional experience in Unreal Engine development.
Strong proficiency in Blueprint Visual Scripting.
Good knowledge of Unreal C++.
Working knowledge of Unity 3D and its XR development ecosystem.
Experience with OpenXR framework and XR SDK integrations.
Strong understanding of XR interaction design principles and spatial computing concepts.
Knowledge of real-time rendering pipelines, lighting, materials, shaders, and performance optimization.
Experience with version control systems such as Git, Perforce, or Plastic SCM.
Familiarity with REST APIs, backend integrations, and data-driven applications.
Understanding of 3D asset pipelines using Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or similar tools.
XR Development Skills:
Meta Quest application development and deployment.
VR locomotion and interaction systems.
Hand tracking and controller-based interaction design.
Passthrough and Mixed Reality application development.
Spatial UI/UX implementation for immersive environments.
Performance profiling and optimization for standalone XR hardware.
Experience deploying XR applications across multiple devices.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Multiplayer and networking experience in Unreal Engine.
Pixel Streaming and cloud-rendered XR solutions.
WebXR and WebGL development experience.
AI integrations within immersive applications.
Experience building Digital Twins, Industrial Simulations, or Enterprise Training solutions.
Exposure to Android XR, Apple Vision Pro, or emerging spatial computing platforms.
Knowledge of CI/CD workflows for game and XR development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Interactive Media, or a related field.
3–4 years of hands-on Unreal Engine development experience.
Demonstrated experience delivering XR applications to production environments.
Portfolio showcasing AR, VR, MR, or real-time 3D projects.
