Job Description - Sales Manager
Job Locations—Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales and Revenue Generation
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Drive sales for networking, wireless, telecom, VoIP, ISP, and enterprise products.
- Develop and execute sales plans for the assigned region and product category.
- Identify new customers, dealers, channel partners, system integrators, ISPs, and enterprise accounts.
- Manage existing customers and generate repeat business.
- Drive upselling, cross-selling, and new product sales.
- Maintain sales pipeline, follow-ups, quotations, order status, and closure reports.
- Ensure timely customer communication and deal closure.
2. Channel Partner and Dealer Management
- Appoint, develop, and manage channel partners, resellers, dealers, and system integrators.
- Build strong relationships with ISP, telecom, IT networking, and enterprise customers.
- Conduct partner engagement activities, product discussions, and sales follow-ups.
- Support partners with product information, pricing, availability, and schemes.
- Resolve partner issues related to pricing, delivery, stock, credit, payment, and support.
- Ensure partners follow company sales process and credit policy.
3. Product and Brand Knowledge
- Maintain strong understanding of networking and telecom products.
- Understand product-wise and model-wise selling points.
- Coordinate with the technical team for product selection, compatibility, and customer queries.
- Promote company key brands and product categories.
- Understand pricing source, margin, stock availability, and competitor pricing.
- Participate in product training and ensure team knowledge improvement.
4. Team Management
- Lead, guide, and monitor the sales team.
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly targets for team members.
- Review daily activity reports, customer follow-ups, quotations, and closures.
- Ensure proper CRM/reporting discipline and timely updates from team members.
- Train team members on customer handling, product knowledge, communication, and closure.
- Conduct regular sales reviews and performance discussions.
5. Business Development
- Identify new markets, customer segments, and business opportunities.
- Build business in ISP, telecom, enterprise, system integration, and networking markets.
- Work closely with OEMs for product promotion, schemes, and business growth.
- Lead high-value deal discussions, pricing negotiation, and closure.
- Track competitor activities and market trends.
- Support expansion of business in assigned territory.
6. Coordination and Order Closure
- Coordinate with Sales Support, Technical Support, Accounts, Operations, Logistics, and Store teams.
- Ensure smooth order processing from quotation to delivery.
- Follow up for payment, credit approval, dispatch, invoice, and customer confirmation.
- Ensure proper closure of every task and customer requirement.
- Avoid pending work without ownership and timeline.
- Maintain email documentation for important discussions, commitments, approvals, and reports.
7. Payment Collection and Compliance
- Follow company credit policy and payment terms.
- Ensure timely payment collection from customers and channel partners.
- Monitor outstanding payments and receivables.
- Coordinate with the accounts team for overdue payment follow-up.
- Ensure compliance with company code of conduct, HR policies, and POSH guidelines.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong B2B sales and channel sales experience.
- Good knowledge of IT networking, wireless, telecom, ISP, VoIP, routers, switches, access points, and fiber products.
- Experience in dealer/distributor/channel partner handling.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to handle targets and work under pressure.
- Good customer relationship management skills.
- Team handling and leadership ability.
- Good coordination with internal departments.
- Strong follow-up and closure approach.
- Basic knowledge of CRM, Excel, email communication, and MIS reporting.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership.
Preferred Product Knowledge
- MikroTik, Cambium Networks, Mimosa, Grandstream, Ubiquiti, TP-Link, Cisco, Juniper, Digisol, Optitera, AirPro or similar brands.
- Wireless access points, routers, switches, VoIP/IP phones, fiber networking products, ISP and telecom solutions.
- Basic understanding of Wi-Fi, wireless, switching, routing, VLAN, Cisco switches/routers, and related networking solutions.
Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline.
- MBA / PGDM in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management will be preferred.
- Engineering or technical background will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 5 to 8 years of experience in B2B sales.
- Experience in IT networking, telecom, ISP, wireless, or enterprise sales preferred.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of team handling or senior sales responsibility preferred.
- Experience with channel partners, system integrators, OEMs, and distributors will be an advantage.
