Operational
1. Taking of hand over form previous duty staff.
2. Check the booking register for assignment.
3. Confirm with the OT Coordinator about surgery if is cancelled/ postponed/ etc.
4. Confirm the patients name and name of the procedure to be performed.
5. Coordinate with CSSD and confirm if all the surgical material, instrument set and linen is ready according to the requirement of the case.
6. After receiving the material form the CSSD, check for the autoclave label for the date of autoclave done, expiry date, list of items in the pack, if the external pack is dry or wet and packed properly.
7. Coordinate with CSSD an OT store if anything required in emergency during the surgery/ procedure.
8. Confirm the disposable/ suture material kit from the OT store and tally with the check list, provide the requirement of the concerned OT.
9. Arrange the instruments according to the case and check all the equipment and Anesthesia drugs along with the OT assistant.
10. Check whether instrument trolley is disinfected with alcohol swab.
11. Scrub nurse should do surgical hand washing for 03-05 minutes and dry the hands with sterile napkin.
12. After drying of the hands nurse will wear the sterile gown and sterile gloves with the help of the circulating assistant.
13. Scrub nurse arranges the sterile trolley with the help of the circulating assistant, and take disposable plastic sheet from him and cover it.
14. Take the linen/ trolley sheets from the mesh tray provided by the CSSD.
15. Circulating assistant opens the outer pack and the scrubbed nurse takes the inner pack into the trolley and checks the instruments with the she arranges the inner packs and lay out the instruments of the instrument trolley.
16. The scrub nurse gives counts of the instrument, mops/ sponges, gauze pieces, needles to the circulating assistant to make a note on the board before surgery and after surgery.
17. Then the instrument trolley is now ready for the case.
18. Cover the prepared trolley with sterile sheet while operating the OT door.
19. Check the file according and also physically, check patient.
20. Now shift the patient from the pre-operative room to the concerned OT 21. Provide prenatal care and support during labor and delivery 22. Assist with gynecological exams and procedures
23. Educate patients on reproductive health, contraception, and prenatal care
24. Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians to ensure seamless patient care
