Role Overview
We are looking for a highly driven, detail-oriented, and commercially aware Legal Associate to join our growing team. The role involves handling legal and documentation aspects of structured finance, secured lending, banking transactions, and real estate matters.
As a significant portion of our business involves secured lending against real estate assets, strong knowledge and practical experience in Real Estate Law and property-related legal documentation is mandatory for this role.
The ideal candidate should possess strong drafting and analytical skills, practical understanding of financial documentation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced transaction-driven environment.
This position offers significant exposure to high-value financial transactions, real estate structuring, lender coordination, and strategic legal execution.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction & Financing Documentation
* Drafting, reviewing, and vetting:
* Loan Agreements
* Mortgage Deeds
* Hypothecation Agreements
* Personal & Corporate Guarantees
* Indemnities & Undertakings
* Term Sheets & Facility Letters
* MOUs, NDAs, and commercial agreements
* Assisting in structuring and execution of secured and unsecured funding transactions
* Preparing and managing complete transaction documentation files
Real Estate & Security Creation
* Verification and scrutiny of:
* Title documents
* Property records
* Encumbrance and ownership documents
* Development and land-related approvals
* Conducting legal due diligence of collateral-backed properties and real estate assets
* Coordinating creation and perfection of securities for secured lending transactions
* Handling registration, stamping, notarisation, and execution formalities
* Advising internally on property-related legal risks and documentation gaps
Legal Due Diligence & Risk Assessment
* Conducting legal due diligence for borrowers, companies, and collateral assets
* Identifying legal, compliance, and transactional risks
* Supporting management in transaction structuring and legal risk mitigation
Banking & Compliance Coordination
* Coordinating with:
* Banks
* NBFCs
* Advocates
* Chartered Accountants
* Registrars & Government Authorities
* Assisting in SARFAESI-related matters, recovery documentation, and enforcement proceedings
* Ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements
Internal Legal Operations
* Maintaining legal MIS, transaction trackers, and documentation records
* Assisting management with legal research and strategic transaction support
* Supporting ongoing operational and compliance processes of the firm
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
* LL.B from a recognised university
* 1–5 years of relevant experience preferred
Mandatory Requirement
* Strong practical knowledge and experience in Real Estate Law, property due diligence, title verification, and secured lending documentation is essential.
