Mirae Asset Foundation–SVKM’s NMIMS ESG Research Chair
The Mirae Asset Foundation (MAF) – SVKM’s NMIMS ESG Research Chair is an academic initiative to advance research, teaching, and engagement in ESG domains. Supported through funding from the Mirae Asset Foundation, the Chair promotes thought leadership by generating relevant research, enabling academic programs, and facilitating collaboration with industry, policymakers, and civil society to drive sustainability and responsible leadership.
NMIMS invites applications for faculty positions at the levels of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor under the ESG Research Chair.
The faculty associated with the MAF–SVKM’s NMIMS ESG Research Chair will contribute to advancing thought leadership in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) through high-quality research, teaching, policy engagement, and industry collaboration. The role aims to strengthen NMIMS’ positioning as a national hub for ESG education, research, and impact.
Key Responsibilities
1. Research & Knowledge Creation
- Lead and undertake original research in ESG, sustainability, and responsible business practices.
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals, policy briefs, and working papers
- Develop cases, books, and teaching material on ESG in Indian and global contexts
- Contribute to funded research projects and consultancy assignments
2. Academic & Teaching Contributions
Design and deliver courses in:
- ESG & Sustainability
- Sustainable Finance / Responsible Leadership
- Governance, Ethics, and Public Policy
3. Institutional & Industry Engagement
Collaborate with:
- Corporates, NGOs, regulators, and CSR bodies
- Organize and contribute to:
- Conferences, roundtables, workshops, and training programs
Build partnerships for: Research, consulting, and executive education
4. ESG Chair Activities & Program Execution
- Support execution of ESG Chair initiatives such as:
- Research studies
- Academic conferences / conclaves
- Student engagement activities and competitions
Capacity-building programs

5. Policy & Thought Leadership
Contribute to:
- Policy advocacy and government engagement
- ESG standards, frameworks, and best practices
Institutional rankings and accreditation efforts (ESG/Sustainability metrics)

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- PhD in Management / Finance / Economics / Sustainability / Public Policy / related field
- Strong academic record with proven research output
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in teaching at postgraduate level
Desirable
- Prior work in ESG / sustainability / development sector
- Industry / consulting / policy experience
- Experience in funded research or project management
- Familiarity with ESG frameworks (GRI, BRSR, SDGs, etc.)
