Job Summary
The Cashier is responsible for receiving payments from customers for vehicle sales, spare parts, and service work, issuing receipts, maintaining cash records, and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded according to company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process cash, credit card, UPI, bank transfer, and cheque payments from customers.
- Generate invoices and payment receipts for vehicle sales, spare parts, accessories, and service jobs.
- Verify billing details and ensure transaction accuracy.
- Maintain daily cash balances and prepare cash reports.
- Reconcile cash collections with invoices and system records.
- Deposit cash and cheques into designated bank accounts as required.
- Handle customer inquiries related to payments and billing.
- Coordinate with sales, service, and accounts departments regarding customer payments.
- Maintain proper documentation of all financial transactions.
- Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and internal controls.
- Assist in month-end and year-end financial reconciliations.
- Report discrepancies or irregularities to management promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a cashier, preferably in an automobile dealership or retail environment.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and cash handling procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and billing/accounting software.
- Strong numerical and record-keeping skills.
