Job Description
George Maijo Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a responsible and experienced Floor In-Charge to supervise workshop floor activities and ensure the smooth, efficient, and timely completion of vehicle service and repair jobs.
The ideal candidate should have good technical knowledge, team-handling skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with Service Advisors, Technicians, and other workshop staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily workshop floor operations.
- Allocate jobs to technicians based on their skills and workload.
- Monitor the progress of repair and maintenance jobs.
- Ensure vehicles are serviced and repaired within the committed delivery time.
- Coordinate with Service Advisors regarding job status and additional repair requirements.
- Monitor technician productivity and work quality.
- Inspect completed jobs and ensure proper quality standards are followed.
- Provide technical guidance and support to technicians when required.
- Identify and resolve technical or operational issues on the workshop floor.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
- Maintain workplace safety, cleanliness, and discipline.
- Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) and minimize unnecessary delays.
- Ensure compliance with company and manufacturer service procedures.
- Support the achievement of workshop productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction targets.
- Prepare and maintain relevant workshop reports and records.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree/ITI in Automobile, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 1–4 years of experience in automobile workshop/service operations.
- Good knowledge of vehicle service, repair, and workshop processes.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team-handling role will be an advantage.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage technicians and multiple jobs simultaneously.
- Basic computer knowledge and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work in a target-oriented workshop environment.
