Work Scope and Job Specifics:
New panels, relays, CTs, PTs, and related control wire are installed and checked.
confirmation that the wiring complies with the authorized termination and schematic drawings.
Control and power cables are tested for insulation resistance (IR).
Polarity and ratio testing for CT and PT.
Protection relay configuration and parameter setting as per scheme.
Protection relay secondary injection testing.
Tripping and alarm circuits are tested for functionality.
Interlock verification between protection systems and panels.
SCADA and communication verification (if relevant).
Before energizing, finish the functional test of the system.
final equipment energization and commissioning.
creation and submission of commissioning and testing reports.
Essential Competencies:
familiarity with protective relays (Siemens, ABB, Schneider, GE).
expertise in protection testing and relay retrofitting.
familiarity with substation systems and electrical designs.
practical experience using the Omicron relay testing apparatus.
