Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Manager – Engineering Procurement to join our team and handle procurement activities for the largest unit of Secure Group of Companies. The ideal candidate should have a Engineering background with 15 years of experience in mechanical and electrical procurement, preferably in the packaging industry. The role involves engineering procurement polymer/plastic for caps & closures, machine parts and electrical components, ensuring efficient supplier management, purchase order (PO) processing, and material receiving entries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management: Procurement of Polymer/plastic for caps & closures & mechanical parts, machine components, and electrical items required for production and maintenance.
- Purchase Requisition (PR) Review: Analyse and review all purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy, necessity, and budget compliance.
- Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement and long-term vendor relationships.
- New Supplier Development
- PO Processing & Material Tracking: Maintain and oversee purchase orders, track material receiving, and ensure timely deliveries.
· Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership skills to guide and motivate the procurement team, drive process improvements, and ensure effective decision-making.
- Adequate Inventory Management: Work closely with the stores and production team to maintain optimal inventory levels and avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Negotiation Skills: Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising on quality and efficiency.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all procurement processes comply with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Supplier Evaluation: Conduct supplier performance assessments and recommend necessary actions to enhance procurement efficiency.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with engineering, production, and accounts teams to align procurement with operational goals.
- Reports & MIS: Maintain procurement records and generate periodic reports for management review.
· Training & Development: Mentor and train junior subordinates in procurement processes, best practices, and industry trends to enhance overall team performance.
Key Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: BE/B.Tech/Diploma-Polymer/Mechanical/Electrical
- Industry Experience: 15 years in procurement, preferably in the packaging industry.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical components used in industrial machinery.
- Procurement Skills: Hands-on experience in vendor negotiations, PR & PO processing, and material receiving entries.
- Software Proficiency: Knowledge of MS Office.
- Communication & Negotiation: Excellent negotiation, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Team Player: Ability to work with cross-functional teams to streamline procurement processes.
- Availability: Should be ready to join immediately or within 30 days.
Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
