Marine Painting Supervisor

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Marine Painting Supervisor to oversee blasting, surface preparation, and painting activities for marine vessels and offshore structures. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, or marine coating projects and possess strong leadership skills to manage painting crews while ensuring quality, safety, and timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily marine painting and surface preparation activities.
- Plan and allocate work to painters, blasters, and support personnel.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, coating procedures, and quality standards.
- Inspect surface preparation, environmental conditions, and paint application before, during, and after coating.
- Monitor paint consumption, equipment, and productivity.
- Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, and HSE teams to achieve project schedules.
- Maintain daily progress reports, manpower records, and material usage.
- Ensure proper storage, mixing, and handling of marine coatings.
- Enforce all safety regulations, PPE usage, and environmental requirements.
- Train and guide painting crews on best practices and quality workmanship.
Requirements
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in marine painting, shipbuilding, ship repair, or offshore coating projects, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Surface preparation (blasting, power tool cleaning, water jetting)
- Marine coating systems and anti-corrosive paints
- Airless spray painting and conventional spray techniques
- Paint inspection and quality control
- Familiarity with SSPC/AMPP (formerly NACE) standards is preferred.
- Ability to read coating specifications, drawings, and work instructions.
- Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills.
- Basic computer knowledge for reporting and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma in Engineering, ITI, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Certification in Protective Coatings, AMPP/NACE, or related coating inspection is an added advantage.
- Experience working in shipyards, marine engineering companies, or offshore projects is highly preferred.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
