About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic L1 Technical Support Engineer (Linux) to join our IT Support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing first-level technical support, monitoring Linux servers, troubleshooting system issues, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 technical support for Linux-based environments.
- Monitor servers, applications, and infrastructure components.
- Troubleshoot basic Linux OS, user access, and application-related issues.
- Manage user accounts, file permissions, and system services.
- Analyze system logs and identify potential issues.
- Handle incidents and service requests through ticketing tools.
- Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams as needed.
- Perform routine health checks, backups verification, and maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents and resolutions.
- Ensure adherence to SLA and support processes.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Rocky Linux).
- Good knowledge of Linux commands and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of user management, permissions, process management, and system services.
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH).
- Experience with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Freshservice, or similar.
- Good understanding of server monitoring and log analysis.
- Basic Shell/Bash scripting knowledge is an added advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Linux certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, Linux+, or LPIC are preferred but not mandatory.
