Observability Engineer
Overview:
We are seeking an Observability Engineer to join our team and drive the implementation, management, and optimization of our monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern observability tools and a strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud environments, and incident response.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain observability solutions using tools such as Datadog, Splunk, ELK/Elastic Stack, Prometheus, or Grafana.
Develop and optimize dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide actionable insights into system health and performance.
Aggregate, parse, and analyze logs and metrics from various sources.
Collaborate with development, operations, and support teams to define monitoring requirements and improve system reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to monitoring, logging, and alerting.
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in observability and monitoring.
Required Skills:
Experience with one or more observability platforms (Datadog, Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their monitoring services.
Experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools.
Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Scripting or programming skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
Familiarity with ITSM/ITIL processes.
Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools.
Automate observability processes and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
