The Dance Teacher will be responsible for planning and conducting engaging dance classes for students across various grade levels in accordance with the school’s co-curricular and holistic development objectives. The teacher will nurture creativity, discipline, confidence, teamwork, and stage performance skills among students through different dance forms and cultural activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct dance sessions for students as per the school timetable.
- Teach various dance forms such as Classical, Folk, Contemporary, Bollywood, Creative Movement, or Western Dance as required by the school.
- Choreograph performances for annual functions, assemblies, competitions, cultural events, and inter-school activities.
- Prepare students for stage performances and dance competitions.
- Encourage creativity, expression, rhythm, coordination, and physical fitness among students.
- Maintain discipline, safety, and positive classroom management during dance sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers and event coordinators for school functions and celebrations.
- Identify and nurture students with exceptional talent in dance and performing arts.
- Ensure proper maintenance and responsible use of costumes, props, music systems, and other dance-related resources.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school activities as required.
- Promote inclusivity and encourage participation from students of all skill levels.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Dance / Performing Arts / Fine Arts or relevant field preferred.
- Diploma or Certification in Dance from a recognized institute will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of teaching or choreography experience in a school, academy, or institution preferred.
- Freshers with strong dance expertise and performance background may also apply.
