Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and result-oriented Production Shift Engineer to manage and supervise production activities during assigned shifts in our plastic injection moulding facility. The candidate will be responsible for achieving production targets, ensuring adherence to quality requirements, maintaining shift records, implementing 5S practices, and ensuring stock accuracy between physical inventory and production records.
The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in plastic injection moulding operations and have the ability to coordinate effectively with production, quality, maintenance, and stores teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management
- Monitor and control production activities during the assigned shift.
- Ensure achievement of daily production targets with optimum machine utilization.
- Minimize machine downtime and coordinate with maintenance for timely resolution of breakdowns.
- Ensure proper manpower allocation and shift handover.
Shift Reporting
- Prepare and maintain accurate shift production reports.
- Record machine-wise production, rejection, downtime, and efficiency data.
- Report production issues, abnormalities, and corrective actions to management.
Inventory & Stock Control
- Verify and ensure physical stock matches production and ERP records.
- Monitor raw material consumption and finished goods movement.
- Support inventory reconciliation activities and stock audits.
- Ensure FIFO implementation for raw materials and finished goods.
5S & Workplace Management
- Implement and sustain 5S practices across the shop floor.
- Maintain housekeeping standards around machines, material storage, and workstations.
- Promote discipline and safe working practices among operators.
Quality & Process Control
- Ensure adherence to approved process parameters and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality department for process inspections and corrective actions.
- Reduce rejection, rework, and material wastage through process monitoring.
ERP & Documentation
- Perform production reporting and material transactions in ERP systems.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry.
- Maintain production records and traceability documents.
Team Supervision
- Supervise machine operators and production assistants.
- Train operators on standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a Plastic Injection Moulding manufacturing environment.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of plastic injection moulding processes.
- Experience in production planning and shift management.
- Ability to prepare and analyze shift reports.
- Knowledge of inventory control and stock reconciliation.
- Strong understanding of 5S and shop-floor discipline.
- Good communication and team management skills.
- Basic knowledge of quality systems and process controls.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and production documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Experience in handling multiple injection moulding machines.
- Knowledge of production efficiency monitoring and OEE concepts.
- Exposure to ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
