Data Entry Operator (DEO) is responsible for entering, updating, and maintaining accurate information in an organization's databases, systems, or spreadsheets. They act as the "digital librarian" of a company, ensuring that large volumes of raw data are digitized, organized, and readily accessible for business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Input & Transcription: Transferring data from paper documents, audio files, or PDFs into digital formats (e.g., text, numbers, or codes) using keyboards or optical character recognition (OCR) equipment.
- Verification & Proofreading: Reviewing source documents to ensure information is complete and accurate prior to entry. They perform "data cleansing" by cross-checking existing databases for inconsistencies, typos, or duplicate entries.
- Researching Data: Locating and obtaining additional information to fill in the blanks on incomplete source documents.
- Record Management: Organizing both physical and digital filing systems, and scanning or printing important files.
- Report Generation: Creating preliminary data reports, summaries, or spreadsheets for management and other teams.
- Data Security & Confidentiality: Safeguarding sensitive company, financial, or personal data by strictly adhering to data protection and privacy policies.

System Maintenance: Performing regular data backups to prevent information loss and ensuring office equipment (printers, scanners) is functioning properly.
Pay: ₹13,591.93 - ₹34,480.15 per month
