Key Responsibilities of an Operations Person
1. Shipment Management
Coordinate domestic and international shipments.
Book shipments with courier and freight partners.
Schedule pickups and deliveries.
Track shipments until successful delivery.
Resolve delays and transit issues.
2. Customer Coordination
Communicate shipment status to customers.
Handle customer enquiries and complaints.
Provide proof of delivery (POD).
Ensure customer satisfaction.
3. Documentation
Prepare shipping labels and airway bills (AWB).
Generate commercial invoices and packing lists.
Verify KYC and export documents.
Prepare customs documentation.
Maintain shipment records.
4. Vendor & Carrier Management
Coordinate with DHL, UPS, FedEx, Aramex and freight partners.
Negotiate shipment bookings.
Monitor carrier performance.
Escalate operational issues when required.
5. Warehouse & Packing Operations
Ensure proper packaging according to shipment type.
Verify shipment weight and dimensions.
Label packages correctly.
Maintain inventory of packing materials.
6. Customs & Compliance
Ensure shipments comply with customs regulations.
Coordinate with customs brokers.
Verify HS codes where applicable.
Monitor restricted or prohibited items.
7. Cost Control
Compare freight costs.
Select the most cost-effective carrier.
Reduce operational errors.
Minimise claims and shipment losses.
8. Reporting
Prepare daily and weekly reports such as:
Number of shipments processed
Pending shipments
Delayed shipments
Customer complaints
Revenue by carrier
Operational KPIs
9. Team Coordination
Coordinate with sales team.
Coordinate with finance for billing.
Coordinate with warehouse staff.
Coordinate with delivery partners.
10. Continuous Improvement
Develop SOPs.
Improve turnaround time.
Reduce shipment errors.
Train new team members.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
